This workshop marked the kickoff event of the University of Bern – McGill Partnership in Precision Medicine, uniting over 60 professionals working in research, to launch collaborative efforts in precision health and translational medicine.
The event opened with a welcome from the Steering Committee, outlining the partnership’s strategic vision and the institutional strengths of the University of Bern and McGill University. It continued with presentations highlighting each university’s expertise in omics, digital health, and translational research.

Visit of Federal Councilor Ignazio Cassis – Montréal
On 30 October 2024, Swiss Federal Councillor and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ignazio Cassis, accompanied by a delegation of three Ambassadors and three Consuls, visited McGill University for a luncheon at the Faculty Club.
The meeting aimed to provide the delegation with an overview of McGill University and its multi-disciplinary approach to developing and implementing genomic medicine. The McGill University delegation was led by Prof. Vincent Mooser, Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Genomic Medicine, alongside Dominique Bérubé (Vice-Principal, Research and Innovation) and Anja Geitmann (Vice-Principal, Global Engagement).
The discussions highlighted how genomic medicine serves as a powerful topic for diplomacy and science, aligning closely with the priorities of the Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs.
